About
Ravi Iyer is India’s leading rock-guitarist right from the 90s and a music composer. He has also mentored innumerable students over 3 decades and plays a specially handcrafted custom-made guitar, which has two differently tuned necks.
He is a trained tabla player, besides coming from a family with a strong music background in both Hindustani and Carnatic styles.
In his act, Ravi is very ably complemented by Rupak Dhamankar who plays tabla and Krishnan Narayanan who plays mridangam.
He has performed with great musicians like Tabla Maestro Ustad Fazal Qureshi, Dallas Smith, Sivamani, George Brooks, violinist Dr. L Subramaniam, and percussionist Vikku Vinayakram.
Ravi has performed at numerous college fests, corporate events, & music festivals in India and has internationally performed at prestigious festivals like India by the Nile in Egypt, the Taehwa River International Jazz festival in South Korea, and at The Indian Embassy in New York.

- Ravi’s album Raga Punch, bagged the Indian Recording Arts Awards for Best sound recording.
- His album BENDS was nominated for ‘The Best Fusion Album of the Year’ at Gima Awards 2013.
